The body is shaped like an egg and decorated with chased spoonwork. The base is decorative, with four stepped legs shaped like shod hooves. The draft opening has decorative cutouts, and the nickel plating is partially lost. The handles consist of two shaped metal plates connected by bone holders. The spigot is faceted, with a relief rosette at the base and a massive shaped outlet. The tap key is made as a branch with a wooden replacement knob. The lid is smooth, with two replacement wooden grips and a steam vent. The fire grate is cast, with decorative cutouts. The plug is missing. Included is a nickel-plated rectangular tray with one rounded side. The stamp on the lid reads: “Паровая самоварная фабрика И. Ф. Капырзина с С-ми въ Тулѣ” with medal images. Published in the catalog “Н ки И. Ф. Капырзина С ья, в Туле”, early 20th century, illustration 44 — described there as “Oval Egg”. The samovar was purchased in 2016 at the Flea Market in Fremont, CA.
